On Being a Dentist
When I have completed a case and the patient is absolutely thrilled about the results, I am happy. When a patient comes to see me, and he or she is fearful, but leaves satisfied and empowered, I am humbled. And when a patient thinks enough of my team and me to refer family and friends to our practice, it is the greatest honor.
Being a family dentist in Millington, Tennessee means I spend my days providing care that improves the lives of people I’ve built relationships with. I enjoy each person’s uniqueness and how people let me become part of their lives as I contribute to improving their oral health and overall wellness.
The conversations we have, and what I learn from my patients, are always fascinating. Every person has a story, and when patients share theirs with me, I am given insight into who they are and I appreciate being allowed that intimacy and trust.
My Education and Continuing Education
My Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) was awarded by the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. I’m a firm believer that dentistry requires a practitioner to remain current on all developing techniques, materials, technologies, and information. This ensures I am able to provide my patients with the high-quality treatment they deserve, along with the proven care options that will deliver the strongest results, painlessly.
I strongly believe in supporting organized dentistry in the USA. Therefore I am a proud member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, and Memphis Dental Society.
My Military Service
I had the privilege of serving in the United States Air Force as a Dental officer. The experience and training received was of tremendous benefit to me professionally and personally.
At the conclusion of my assignment, I was honored to receive the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service.
Personal Life
I was raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and have called Millington, TN home since 1999. My life is shared with my husband Walter and two sons. When I’m not caring for my patients, I enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Being active in and supporting our community is important to me. I have served as board member of the Millngton YMCA, Chamber of Commerce, committee chair and delegate for the MDS, and a dental volunteer with Bellevue Baptist Church Mobile Dental Service.
